Welcome to Cohen Brothers Inc.

The Cohen brothers, Mose and Phil Cohen, began scrap operations in 1924 using a horse-drawn cart to collect scrap metal, paper, and rags. Four generations later Cohen Brothers, Inc. has evolved into one of the largest ferrous and non-ferrous scrap processing companies in the United States. We currently operate 19 facilities and process in excess of 1 million tons annually. Although we have expanded, Cohen Brothers remains a family owned business, working under the same values the company was founded on.

Cohen Brothers, Inc. has a committed management team that is able to react quickly to any needs a customer or consumer may have. Customer service is an area of intense focus. At our headquarters in Middletown, Ohio, we are available to our customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are also focused on very high quality standards. In 2002 Cohen Brothers, Inc. became the first scrap processor in the United States to be certified to the new ISO 9001:2000 standard. ISO 9001 is a quality control system designed to ensure our product meets consumer specifications each and every time a load leaves the plant.

Throughout the years Cohen Brothers, Inc. has evolved into a self sufficient company. We have integrated administrative, processing, transportation, engineering, fabrication, maintenance, safety, and environmental departments. These departments work together in order to achieve the necessary efficiency for us to be successful.

Cohen Brothers, Inc. is a member of ISRI, the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries and is also heavily involved in many civic organizations. We are very proud to be a leader in the scrap recycling industry as well as local communities.
